Pascoe and Company is delighted to welcome Louise Irvine to Miami. Louise is the leading expert on Royal Doulton wares and the author of many books on the subject. She has worked with Ed Pascoe for the last 20 years from her London office and now she has decided to live in Miami Beach with her husband, George, “We are enjoying our new home in the Florida sunshine”, says Louise. “Now that I am based in the USA, I am looking forward to visiting many more American collectors on my travels.”

Ed, Louise & Michael Doulton

Louise has had a long association with the Royal Doulton company dating back to 1977 when she researched the Doulton Story exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. She founded the company’s International Collectors Club, in 1980, edited its quarterly magazine for the first ten years, and organized regular exhibitions for the Royal Doulton Gallery in London, many of which also travelled abroad.

Louise has published more than a dozen standard reference books for collectors and countless articles. Her best-selling book The Doulton Lambeth Wares charts the history of this well-known London pottery and features art wares by famous designers, including George Tinworth, Hannah Barlow and Mark Marshall.

Ed, Louise & Richard Dennis

With her extensive knowledge of Royal Doulton antiques and collectibles, Louise has often been a guest on TV and radio chat shows around the world and she starred with the well known actor Patrick Macnee in a video documentary about Royal Doulton.

Of Scottish origin, Louise studied first at Edinburgh University, from which she graduated with an Honors degree in Fine Art. Later she followed a Post Graduate course in Museum Studies at Manchester University and it was during this time that she developed her special interest in ceramics. After working for museums in Glasgow and London, she joined Royal Doulton as Director of Historical Promotions, working on a wide range of projects.

Louise has been a teacher of ceramic history at North Staffordshire Polytechnic, as well as at Christie’s Education in London, and she is an approved speaker on the Index of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies. She is in great demand as a speaker and regularly lectures to museums, antique clubs and other special interest groups in the United States, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and the UK.
